UNION COUNTY, NC — A Union County Sheriff’s deputy is on administrative duty after being charged with Assault on a Female and Communicating Threats.
Officials say Christopher Horne, 49, was served a criminal summons Friday afternoon and placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of the case.
According to the UCSO, Horne’s estranged wife filed a report on February 5th claiming the deputy assaulted her during a domestic incident on December 21, 2018.
Charges were then filed by the Union County magistrate after detectives presented their findings from the investigation.
Horne is scheduled to appear in court on March 26.
