Authorities Use Stop Sticks To End Multi-County Vehicle Chase

LINCOLN COUNTY, NC — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office used stop sticks overnight Tuesday to help end a multi-county vehicle pursuit.

The chase started around 1am on Highway 321 in Catawba County near Maiden, officials say, with a suspect who was traveling south on Startown Road. Once the suspect entered Lincoln County, deputies say they were able to deploy stop sticks across Bethel Church Road, which punctured all four tires.

The vehicle came to a stop on Buffalo Shoals Road, officials say, and Lincoln County deputies and Maiden Police officers were able to arrest the three occupants.

The driver, 17-year-old Stacie McGuire has been charged withΒ felony operating a vehicle while fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement and failure to stop for a traffic light.

Jyteonjay Rippy, 22, is charged withΒ felony altering the serial number on a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon, and Calieb Clark, 21, is charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

The LCSO says Maiden Police also found a large amount of counterfeit bills inside the vehicle. That investigation is ongoing.
