North Carolina Lawmaker Pushing Bill That Would Require Bicycles To Be Registered With DMV
CHARLOTTE, N.C. —Β A proposal that would require cyclists in North Carolina to register their bikes and pay a $10 annual fee is getting some push back.
An Alexander County representative introduced the bill.Β It will require people 16-years-old and older to register their bikes with the DMV.
If approved, the money from the fees would go to bicycle related projects like bike lanes and signs.Β There would also be a $25 fine for anyone who was caught without registering their bike.
