Victim Identified After Man Found Shot To Death In West Charlotte Convenience Store Parking Lot

The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Richard William Carter Jr.

The case is still under investigation and more information will be released as it develops.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide after one person was shot and killed in west Charlotte Friday night.

On Friday, March 8, 2019, at about 11:07 p.m., CMPD officers responded to a call for service in the 2700 block of Tuckaseegee Road.

Arriving officers located man suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot.  MEDIC responded to the incident and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

No suspects have been identified in this case. The CMPD will release more information as it becomes available.
