Former Carolina Panther Thomas Davis To Sign With LA Chargers
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former Carolina Panthers’ linebacker Thomas Davis just announced that he will be on the NFL field next year, but not as a Carolina Panther.
Davis recently announced that he would not be returning to the Panthers’ organization for the 2019 season. Now, he just posted on Twitter that he has signed a deal with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Davis wanted to retire as a Panther after playing with the team for 14 seasons but was informed in January that they were not going to resign him.
Davis is the Panthers’ all-time leading tackler and the first player in the NFL to overcome three knee surgeries on the same knee, according to ESPN.
