Novant Health: JDRF One Walk

Thousands of children each year are diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, a serious autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, a hormone essential to turning food into energy.

On April 6th, thousands will gather at Carowinds to participate in the JDRF One Walk, which raises money and awareness to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes.

Dr. Diana Miller a pediatric endocrinologist from Novant Health is here to tell us more about this disease and how you at home can get involved.
