Police Arrest Suspect Accused Of Robbing Store, Threatening To Kill Clerk

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD says they have arrested a man accused of robbing a store on Monroe Road over the weekend and threatening to kill the clerk.

Michael Overton, 39, allegedly robbed the 7-Eleven located at 5343 Monroe Road on Sunday, March 17th. Police say Overton tried to hide merchandise in his pants, and then threatened to shoot and kill the clerk when confronted.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say Overton was quickly located and positively identified. He is charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
