Possible Unintentional Shooting Sends One Lincoln County Man To The Hospital

LINCOLN COUNTY, NC — A man was injured Wednesday night in what deputies are calling a “possible unintentional shooting.”

The incident happened around 7:50pm at the Lake Norman Quarry. Deputies say a man was working on a crane when he was shot in the leg.

A caller to the Lincoln County Communications Center reported several shots being fired in the area, but believed it was someone doing target practice.

This is not being treated as an active shooter incident, according to the sheriff, but the investigation is ongoing. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says they are interviewing a person of interest in the case.

The man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
