CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have charged a suspect with shooting a teen in south Charlotte Wednesday night.
Makel Sadler, 18, is accused of shooting a 16-year-old on Walsh Boulevard near Johnston Road around 7:52pm. The victim was taken to Atrium Health with life threatening injuries.
The shooting happened outside of an apartment complex, according to investigators, and the victim and suspect were known to one another.
Police say Sadler was at the scene when officers arrived and cooperated with the investigation.
Sadler is charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Shooting in the City Limits and Destruction of Evidence.
