Original Story (March 17, 2019):
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Family is praying for the safe return of a Cleveland County man. Witnesses say 34-year-old Keenan Little went into the water at the Broad River Greenway and may have gotten swept away Saturday afternoon.
“The family really needs answers and right now we don’t have (any) answers,” explains Little’s cousin Jason Wilson.
Crews searched until nightfall Saturday and all day Sunday.
They’re using dive teams, sonar, even a helicopter, and now consider it a recovery operation.
“It’s kinda hard. It’s taken a toll on our family. But (we’re) still hoping for a miracle that he’ll be found, but either way, closure,” Wilson says.
Family members say Little graduated from the Naval Academy. They say he played football and is considered a disabled veteran because of issues with concussions.
“He’s always there for me,” Little’s grandmother Dorothy Wilson says, crying. “He’s always there for everybody, for everybody. If he could help them in any way, he would.”
Family members are asking for prayers as they continue to wait.
“I thank ya’ll for the prayers, the support, and just continue to pray for us,” Little’s mother Barabra says.
She wore his letterman jacket from Crest High School.
“It’s just something about a loved one, you’re always going to have hope. And we’re hoping right now that there’s a way he finds his way back to us,” Wilson says.
