Suspect Wanted After Robbing Convenience Store With Stun Gun

NEWTON, NC — Police are searching for a man they say robbed a convenience store overnight with a stun gun.

The robbery happened shortly before 1am at the Circle K on E. 20th Street. Police say the suspect is described as a light skinned man, between 5’8″ and 5’10,” with long blonde hair and a mole on his upper cheek.

He was last seen wearing a green/brown toboggan with a black and white bandana covering his mouth and nose, a black jacket and light colored pants.

According to the clerk, the man initially asked for two packs of cigarettes but said he was robbing the store after being asked to remove the face covering. That is when investigators say the man also produced a stun gun and activated the device several times to prove it was real.

The suspect got away with cigarettes and money, police say. No one was injured during the robbery.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Newton Police Department at 828-465-7430.
