Mooresville Police Charge 4 Teens With Breaking Into Vehicles, Leading Officers On Pursuit

MOORESVILLE, NC — Police have charged four teens accused of breaking into vehicles and leading officers on a pursuit early Friday morning.

The first crimes were reported around 1:16am in a subdivision off Waterlynn Road. Police say witnesses saw several suspects trying to break into multiple vehicles before jumping into another vehicle and speeding off.

Responding officers say they found the suspect vehicle in the area but they refused to stop.

The suspects reportedly led officers on a chase that went north to Troutman and then south to Davidson. Officers say they eventually deployed stop sticks, which resulted in the suspects crashing.

Police say the suspects tried to run on foot but were quickly apprehended. The vehicle was also reported stolen out of Cornelius.

The oldest suspect, Christopher Moses, 18, of Gastonia, is charged with Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, and Resisting/Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer.

Police say the other three suspects are under the age of 18 and their names will not be released due to age. Police do say they are facing similar charges.

This is an ongoing investigation and officials say additional charges may be filed on all suspects.
