Covenant Day School Employee Arrested For Sex Crimes In Union County

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Investigators say a man who worked at Covenant Day School in Matthews has been charged with several sex crimes.

Christopher Muggler was arrested on March 26th on five counts of 2nd degree sexual exploitation of a minor.  Authorities say these charges are in reference to possessing child pornography.

Tony Underwood, the chief communications officer for the Union County Sheriff’s Office, says Muggler was employed at Covenant Day School at the time of his arrest.

He also told WCCB that the Union County Sheriff’s Office was assisting the FBI on this case but Muggler is facing state level charges at this time.
