Three Bladed Items Recovered During Safety Screening At Garinger High School

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) conducted safety screenings at Garinger High School this morning.

Three bladed items were voluntarily turned over by students to safety screening personnel as the screening started.

Garinger High School was selected by random drawing. Classrooms screened within each school were selected by random drawing. No individual students were selected for screening.

Parents at each school were notified at the start of screening and conclusion of the screenings.

The goals of CMS safety screenings are to help keep weapons out of schools and to minimize class time disruptions and distractions from teaching and learning during the safety screenings.
