HICKORY, N.C. — Hickory Police are investigating a murder-suicide that left two teens dead and a three-year-old injured.
Police say they responded to a shots fired call on 1st Street SW just after 8pm on April 11th. Upon arrival they found a 16-year-old teen, Devin Lee, suffering from gunshot wounds. Lee was taken to Frye Regional Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries.
The three-year-old was reportedly outside during the shooting and was struck by shrapnel and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Just before 9pm Hickory Police say they received information that one of the suspects, 17-year-old Zamare Davidson, was dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a residence in Burke County. A second suspect, 20-year-old Jonathan Laxton, of Conover, was taken into custody and will be charged with one count of accessory after the fact.
Police say the shooting appears to be the result of a dispute between Davidson and Lee.
