Lockdown Lifted At Two Union County Schools After Shots Reportedly Fired Nearby

MONROE, NC — Lockdowns at Monroe High School and Monroe Middle School have been lifted after reports of shots being fired nearby Friday afternoon.

Officials say the incident was reported around 3pm. It did not happen on campus, officials say, but the schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.

Police say they are still questioning people in the area, and have found a home that was hit by gunfire on Forest Avenue. At this time, police say no arrests have been made.
