MATTHEWS, N.C. — Police say they are searching for two suspects after a man was carjacked in Matthews.
The man reportedly called 911 around 1:15am on Friday, April 12th and stated that his car had just been stolen at gunpoint on Sam Newell Road.
The victim told officers he was giving two acquaintances a ride and while they were driving on Sam Newell Road one of them pulled out a gun and told the victim to give him his wallet and to get out of the car.
The two suspects then drove away with the victim’s 2005 Cadillac SRX, according to a news release. The vehicle is maroon with chrome Cadillac wheels and has N.C. license plate FKP-3558.
The man was not injured during the incident. Police say the suspects are described as a black male that possibly goes by the name of J.D. or J.T. and a black female, with short braided hair, that possibly goes by the name Gabby or Gabrielle.
