55 Years Of Mustang Event Kicks Off At Charlotte Motor Speedway | PHOTOS

CONCORD, NC — On April 17, 1964, the world was first introduced to the Ford Mustang. Fifty-five years later, enthusiasts from all over the world have gathered in Concord to celebrate the launch of the original pony car.

The “55 Years of Mustang” event kicked off on National Mustang Day at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. It is being hosted by a first of its kind museum located less than two miles away from the track.

The Mustang Owner’s Museum also held their grand opening on Wednesday to coincide with the anniversary.

The massive new complex features countless cars, exhibits and memorabilia from the past 55 years that not only celebrates the history of the Ford Mustang, but also the lifestyle that it created for people all over the world.
