LANCASTER, S.C. — Deputies with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office say they arrested a man for trafficking drugs.
Nicholas Payne, 38, of Old Jefferson Highway, was arrested on April 19th at his home after a search warrant was executed, according to a news release.
Task force agents say they obtained a search warrant for Payne’s home and also had a warrant for his arrest for an earlier sale of a substance suspected to be heroin.
Agents conducted the search on the morning of April 19th. They say Payne was at the home with a woman and six children. Payne is the only person charged in the case.
During the search, authorities say they recovered 25 pain pills, 14 Alprazolam pills, marijuana, three prescription medications, digital scales and $1,435 in cash.
Payne was charged with distribution of heroin, trafficking pain medication, possession with the intent to distribute Alprazolam and marijuana, and three counts of possession of a prescription drug without a prescription.
