Rock Hill Police Searching For Suspect In Walgreens Robbery

ROCK HILL, SC — Police are investigating an overnight robbery that occurred at a Walgreens near Winthrop University overnight.

The robbery happened around 1:10am at the store on Oakland Avenue. Police say the suspect went to the pharmacy and demanded pain pills.

According to reports, the suspect presented a note threatening to hurt everyone in the store but never produced an actual weapon. He reportedly escaped with a bottle of Xanax containing about 25 pills.

Police say the suspect is described as a younger black man wearing a white shirt, dark zip up hoodie, athletic pants and a flat billed cap.

K9 units reportedly tracked the suspect to the College Avenue Extension before losing the trail.
