Gastonia Man Charged With Making False Bomb Threat At Lincoln County Business

LINCOLN COUNTY, NC — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says they have charged a Gastonia man with making a false bomb threat against a business in January.

Deputies say Travis Chambers, 31, made the threat on January 9th. He reportedly called the Lincoln County Communications Center and told the operator there were bombs in the Crate and Barrel warehouse on Lincoln County Parkway Extension.

Officials say Chambers was an employee at the warehouse when he made the threat. No bombs or devices were ever found.

Investigators say they eventually traced the call to a cell phone registered to Chambers and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Chambers was arrested on Tuesday and later released on a $5,000 bond.

Deputies say this is the second time Chambers has made a false bomb threat against the business. He was arrested on March 18th in connection to a threat that was called in four days earlier, on March 14th.
