MATTHEWS, NC — A 16-year-old is facing several charges after Matthews Police say he stole a vehicle on April 25th.
James Yarboro was served arrest warrants on Monday, May 6th at the Mecklenburg County Jail, where he was being held on unrelated charges.
Investigators say Yarboro is accused of stealing a woman’s vehicle from the Matthews Barber Shop II parking lot on Matthews Mint Hill Road around 12:21pm on Thursday, April 25th. The victim told police she parked the car in the lot earlier and it was gone when she returned.
Police say they identified Yarboro as the suspect using surveillance video captured in the area.
Yarboro is charged with Breaking and-or Entering a Motor Vehicle and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.
The woman’s vehicle was reportedly found on April 27th on Fowler Springs Lane in Charlotte.
