Emotional Tribute in Mooresville to Fallen Police Officer

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – An emotional tribute in Mooresville to a police officer killed in the line of duty.

Thousands turned out to pay their respects to Officer Jordan Sheldon.

“This is a celebration,” Officer Sheldon’s father Harry told the crowd, “Thank you Mooresville.
Thank you, Jordy loved you.”

He says his son changed career paths in college, deciding on a life of service in the police department.

Thousands showed up at Mooresville Town Hall on Wednesday night to thank him.

Officer Sheldon died after a suspect opened fire during a traffic stop late Saturday night.

He served as a canine officer with the Mooresville Police Department for six years.
