2 Suspects Wanted After Reported South Charlotte Vehicle, Home Break-Ins
CHARLOTTE, NC — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is trying to find two men wanted on multiple charges related to crimes that occurred on May 6th.
Kiante McClellan, 20, is wanted for Attempted First Degree Burglary, First Degree Burglary, three counts of Breaking and Entering a Vehicle, two counts of Misdemeanor Larceny from vehicle, Felony Larceny from Burglary and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
A second suspect is also wanted in connection to the crimes, but has not yet been identified.
Within 10 minutes, police say McClellan and the unidentified suspect broke into two vehicles and a home on Normandy Road in south Charlotte.
Around 4:20am, the suspect allegedly broke into a parked vehicle and then unsuccessfully tried to break into the home. Ten minutes later, investigators say they broke into another vehicle at a home nearby and then broke into the house itself.
The victims in the second home were reportedly asleep when the two men broke in. Police say the suspects took off when one of the victims awoke and confronted them inside.
Responding officers located the suspect vehicle fleeing the scene, and reportedly chased the men until they crashed into a tree on Slatewood Road. The suspects then escaped on foot, according to CMPD.
Investigators say the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Matthews.
