CHARLOTTE, NC — For Mother’s Day weekend, all residents of the Mecklenburg County Detention Center will receive one free video call on Saturday and Sunday.
Sheriff McFadden continues to work with the Detention Center’s current telecom provider, GTL, to assist all residents in staying connected to their families.
In person visits allow our residents to stay connected to their families. However, some family members are unable to travel to visit.
Mothers are special and should be honored daily. As most of the country recognizes their Mother or Mother figure this weekend, video calls by residents of the Mecklenburg County Detention Center will allow every resident to communicate with their support networks.
In February, Sheriff McFadden announced that all residents under the age of 18 would receive free telephone calls. Currently, residents receive one free video call per week.
The free video calls for Mother’s Day weekend allow the County to do what is best for everyone in our facilities.
