2018 Statesville Shooting Suspects Plead Guilty
STATESVILLE, NC — Police say two suspects charged in a 2018 shooting case have pleaded guilty.
Jadakiss Morrison, 20, and Jaquez Gaines, 18, each pleaded guilty to three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder on May 8th in Superior Court.
Morrison was sentenced to 12-15 years in prison. Gaines was sentenced to 10-13 years.
Police say three other suspects charged in the case were sentenced earlier this year after pleading guilty.
Okiero Shuford was sentenced to over 10 years on January 25th, Keeven Trent was sentenced to over 10 years on March 12th and Deontae Savoy was sentenced to more than four and a half years on March 8th.
Shuford and Trent also faced Attempted First Degree Murder charges. Savoy was sentenced on Conspiracy to Commit Murder charges.
The shooting reportedly happened during a party in March of 2018 at Fiesta Rodeo on Salisbury Road. Police say three teens were shot during the incident, and transported with non-life threatening injuries.
