SALISBURY, NC — Salisbury Police have identified the 49-year-old woman found shot in the chest Monday night at the intersection of Union Heights and Crown Point Boulevard.
Police say Debra Jane Hodges is in stable condition after officers found her around 9:15pm with a single gunshot wound to the upper chest. Hodges was reportedly conscious and alert at the scene.
She was transported by ambulance to NC Baptist Hospital for treatment.
Investigators say the shooting does not appear to be random, and they believe Hodges was the intended target.
At this time, detectives say they are still trying to determine a motive and possible suspect(s).
