Albemarle Woman Recovering After Being Shot Wednesday Night

ALBEMARLE, NC — Police say a woman is recovering after being shot in her home Wednesday night.

The incident happened shortly before 6:30pm at a home on Second Avenue. Police say Devonte Wall was responsible for “involuntarily discharging a firearm” and hitting Jasmine Carbajal near the hip area.

Wall was reportedly visiting Carbajal when the incident occurred.

Police say Wall and another family member immediately transported Carbajal to the hospital for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing. Albemarle Police say they will consult the District Attorney’s Office about whether any criminal charges will be filed.
