Charlotte Hornets Land 12th Overall Pick In NBA Draft

The Hornets had a one percent chance of hitting the jackpot in this year’s NBA Draft Lottery.

It didn’t happen.

No luck for Buzz City once again. Charlotte didn’t move up, but it didn’t move down either.

Following Tuesday night’s NBA Draft Lottery, the Charlotte Hornets will have the 12th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. The Hornets also own the 36th and 52nd overall selections in the draft, which will be held Thursday, June 20, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The 2019 NBA Draft will mark the second time in franchise history that the Hornets have had the No. 12 pick entering draft night. In 2009 the team selected Gerald Henderson from Duke with the 12th overall pick.

In the 2018 NBA Draft, the Hornets acquired the 12th overall pick Miles Bridges in a draft night trade.

The New Orleans Pelicans hit the lottery jackpot once again, getting the No.1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Duke’s Zion Williamson is projected to be this year’s top pick.
