College Board Adds Adversity Score To SAT
A big change with the SAT. The college admissions test will no include a new “adversity score” about students backgrounds. The score measures factors such as the crime rate and poverty levels of a student’s neighborhood. Colleges will be able to see the score when considering applicants, but students themselves won’t know their scores. Critics say the move is just the latest PR stunt by the testing company to remain relevant during the college admissions scandal.
