Serena Williams Makes Bold French Open Fashion Statement
Serena Williams is known for making bold moves on and off the tennis court.
Now fans are heaping praise on her for a fierce fashion statement at the French Open.
Serena arrived for Monday’s first round, wearing an outfit printed with the French words for: “champion”, “queen”, “goddess” and “mother.”
She explained her outfit choice after she won the match. “Those are things that mean a lot to me,” Williams said. “Just to remind everyone that they, you know, can be champions and are queens.”
Serena’s on-court fashion choices have gotten attention before.
Remember the black catsuit she wore last year?
She explained it was designed to prevent blood clots after giving birth, but the president of the French Tennis Federation banned her from ever wearing it in the tournament again.
