Unsettled Through Mid-Week
Heavy rain and storms caused a ruckus overnight for some. Still seeing showers for the morning commute. A flash flood watch will go into effect for Ashe and Watauga Counties at noon. More rain and storms expected today, as several disturbances move through the region over the next few days. Highs will reach the upper 80s to lower 90s through Thursday. Strong cold front will clear this pattern late Thursday. We’ll have to keep an eye on the potential for a stronger storm on Thursday depending on the timing of this boundary. Clear skies return on Friday for the first day of summer. It won’t be quite as muggy, but it will still be hot. Spotty PM Storm chances will take us into the weekend with temps into the lower 90s.
