ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police in Rock Hill are investigating after a man says he was robbed by a stranger who he had given a ride to the bank.
The 23-year-old victim says on Tuesday, he met the man at a strip mall on Cherry Road in Rock Hill. The man asked him for a ride to the Bank of America, which was also on Cherry Road.
Once they arrived at the bank, the man told the victim he was armed and instructed him to withdraw all of his money from the ATM or he would get hurt.
The victim withdrew $140.00 from the ATM and gave it to the man who then told the victim to drop him off at a gas station on Cherry Road, where he left on foot.
The suspect is described as a black man about 5’7” and 150 pounds, wearing a white polo and tan shorts.
