Hornets Draft PJ Washington With 12th Overall Pick

CHARLOTTE, NC — The Charlotte Hornets drafted Kentucky power forward PJ Washington with the 12th overall pick in the NBA Draft Thursday night.

Washington, a sophomore with the Wildcats, averaged 15.2 points per game and shot 42 percent from 3 in the 2018/19 season, which was up 20 percent from his freshman year.

The Texas native was predicted to go to the Miami Heat with the 13th overall pick, according to several mock drafts. He will now join the team in Buzz City.
