CMPD: Victim Identified In Deadly Northwest Charlotte Traffic Accident

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD says a woman was killed early Wednesday morning after a traffic accident in northwest Charlotte.

The two-vehicle collision happened around 8:00 a.m. near the intersection of Oakdale Road and Auten Road. Witnesses tell police that a 2009 Hyundai Sonata crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a 2016 Dodge Charger head-on.

A passenger in the Hyundai was transported by Medic to Atrium Health, but later died from injuries. She has been identified as 53-year-old Sheila Mosby.

Police say the drivers and remaining passengers of both vehicles were also transported with serious injuries, but none of them appear to be life threatening at this time.

According to CMPD, the Hyundai’s driver, 46-year-old Jonathan Vance, will be charged in connection to the accident. Investigators say drug impairment on his part is suspected.
