Knights Celebrate Fourth Of July With A Win

Knights Beat Tides 3-2 In Dramatic Fashion On Independence Day

Happy Birthday America!

There’s nothing better than baseball and fireworks on the Fourth of July.  A record crowd of 10,848 fans at BB&T Ballpark got to see both on Thursday night.

The Charlotte Knights returned to uptown just in time for Independence Day.

The Carolina Crown preformed the National Anthem before Charlotte began it’s four game home series with Norfolk.

The Tides got on the board first thanks to Jesus Sucre’s RBI single.

The Knights would tie things up 2-2 and then rally in the bottom of the 9th inning. With two outs, Adam Engel hit a walk-off single for the 3-2 Charlotte win.

The Knights host the Tides on Friday night as the series continues. First pitch set for 7:05 p.m.
