Rainy Start to Week Ahead
An expansive rainmaking system moves in from the west.
After a one-day hiatus in the 80s, we reached the 90s once again Sunday thanks to warm southerly winds and increased afternoon sunshine. The increased heat, humidity, and insolation, however, have made the Carolinas a prime region for thunderstorm development. When we’re not dealing with inclement weather, it will be hot and humid, with temperatures near 90Β° and heat index values approaching 100Β°. Looking ahead, a large rainmaking system will continue its march through the Carolinas, which could provide some more relief from the heat, although storm chances will be high through the start of the week.
Tonight: Scattered showers and storms early. Low 75Β°. Light wind.
Monday: Partly sunny and humid, PM storms. High 90Β°. Light wind.
Monday Night: Widespread showers and storms. Low 73Β°. Light wind.
Tuesday: Showers and storms early, slightly cooler. High 86Β°. NE 5-10.
