CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The CMPD is searching for a suspect accused of trying to break into a home in northwest Charlotte. A person inside the home reportedly fired a weapon at the suspect during the attempted break-in, according to police.
It all happened Monday morning just after 11:30am on Darbyshire Place. This is near West W.T. Harris and I-485.
Police say an armed suspect tried to force their way into the home. That’s when someone inside the house fired a weapon, according to a news release. The suspect is then accused of shooting back at the victim but no one was injured.
The suspect left the scene and has not been located at this time. Anyone with information about this attempted break-in is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
