HICKORY, N.C. — Hickory Police say they arrested a man for committing a crime spree on July 9th. Police say it all started just after 5:30am when Alan Logan, 56, stole a vehicle from a convenience store on Fairgrove Church Road SE.
He is then accused of assaulting two people during an attempted robbery at a convenience store on Highway 70 SW.
A short time later, police say they received an alarm from a gas station on 4th Street SW in reference to another attempted robbery.
Investigators say a brief vehicle chase ensued at the intersection of 5th Street SE and 2nd Street Place SE that ended with Logan crashing and running from police. Officers were able to take him into custody on 8th Avenue SE, according to a news release.
Logan has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, assault serious bodily injury, hit and run, common law robbery, assault on a female, flee arrest with motor vehicle, driving while license revoked, possession of cocaine and resisting officer. Logan was given a $300,000 bond.
