Hundreds Of People Scoured Uptown For Breakout Games’ Hidden Money Treasure Hunt

Hundreds of people showed up for the Breakout Games treasure hunt in uptown Charlotte yesterday. The escape room hid twenty $100 bills and released the location coordinates every half hour.

People followed along on their phones and chased down the cash in uptown and midtown.

WCCB was there when the first $100 bill was found.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Pineville escape room is giving away $2000 today! The only catch is, you have to find the money.

Breakout Games is hosting treasure hunt beginning at 5 p.m. in Midtown and Uptown Charlotte.  They will be releasing the coordinates to twenty $100 bills via their Facebook page, Facebook event page, and website every 30 minutes from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The first person to follow the coordinates to the hidden money gets to keep it.  Participants are asked to park their cars and hunt for the money on foot, as all of the money will be hidden within a mile and a half radius.
