INDIAN TRAIL, S.C. — Detectives have charged two men in connection with a robbery incident that ended with the victim firing a gun in the Indian Trail Walmart parking lot last month.
Shamon Ratliff, 20, of Wingate, has been charged with felony larceny. Deputies say he meet Koree Hudson, of Charlotte, in the parking lot of Walmart to see an iPhone that was listed for sale on the LetGo app.
Investigators say Ratliff grabbed the iPhone from Hudson’s hands and began running in the parking lot. Hudson is accused of firing a handgun into the air as Ratliff was running away with the iPhone, according to a news release. Ratliff was able to escape the area but reportedly dropped personal items at the scene that assisted investigators in identifying him as the suspect.
Hudson called 911 to report the situation and remained at the scene to speak with deputies. Hudson ended up being charged with a firearms ordinance violation, which is a misdemeanor, for discharging the firearm in the parking lot.
No one was injured during the robbery or the shooting. Hudson was charged on a criminal summons so no mugshot is available.
