Toddler Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle In Southwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A toddler was seriously injured in after being struck by a vehicle in southwest Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Officers were called to a town home complex on Calloway Glen Drive around 9am after the two-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle.

Investigators initially called the crash a hit and run but have now said that the driver contacted them following the incident. Therefore, police say the accident is not being investigated as a hit and run.

Police have not said if charges will be filed at this time.  The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated by CMPD’s Major Crash Unit, according to a news release.
