Subaru Concord Showcases Commitment To Health And Wellness By Supporting Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
CONCORD, NC July 12, 2019 – In an effort to make a positive impact on the health and wellness of our local community, Subaru Concord supported The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by delivering warmth and hope to cancer patients as part of a larger Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) initiative called Subaru Loves to Care.
Throughout June, Subaru Concord asked team members and customers to share personal messages of hope with those fighting cancer. Subaru Concord also donated 80 blankets to cancer patients in the local community. Over 100 messages of hope were delivered to patients at Levine Cancer Institute at NorthEast Medical Center along with warm blankets today by Subaru team members, representatives of LLS and a two cancer survivors. We were delighted to meet LLS Board Member and cancer survivor, Scott Peterson, Mia, aged 7 and a cancer survivor, and her Mom, Marianna Furrer who helped us with the delivery.
The Subaru Loves to Care initiative reflects the automaker’s corporate goals to improve the health and wellness and the lives of those in the local communities where we live and work – all part of the larger Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment effort dedicated to making a positive impact on the world. Over the past three years, LLS and Subaru have reached more than 100,000 patients in nearly 700 hospitals, with the help of over 500 Subaru retailers nationwide.
Locally, our two Subaru franchises have donated over 600 blankets since 2016 to patients of The Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte and Concord.
