CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Oktoberfest announced via social media that they are cancelling the 2019 festival.
The Carolina BrewMasters, a nonprofit homebrew club based in Charlotte, began Charlotte Oktoberfest in 1999 to bring education and awareness of craft beer to the Charlotte market.
A news release posted to their Facebook page says,
“As the festival grew in size of offerings and attendance, the required labor to be successful far exceeded the club’s resources, so we looked to outside partners and volunteers. Our nonprofit partner who organized and financed the event logistics and supplied most of the labor is unable to do so again this year, so we regret to announce that Charlotte Oktoberfest will not be held in 209.”

The festival has been able to donate more than $650,000 to charities in our area. The Carolina BrewMasters say they would like to see the festival continue in the future, and would welcome offers by interested parties that could manage all the logistics and operational aspects of the event.
