Newton Police Asking For Assistance Identifying Circle K Armed Robbery Suspect

NEWTON, N.C. — Police in Newton, North Carolina, are asking for assistance identifying the suspect who robbed a Circle K convenience store early Friday morning.

Police say at about 12:48 a.m. on Friday morning, officers responded to an armed robbery at the Circle K located at 334 E. 20th Street in Newton, near the intersection of Mt. Olive Church Road.

The store clerk told officers that a black male, approximately 5’10” to 6 feet, approached him, brandished a handgun and demanded money.  The clerk stated that the suspect continued to point the gun at him as he walked behind the counter to the cash register.

The clerk opened the register and gave the suspect money, before the suspect fled the store on foot.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  No one was injured during the robbery.
