Police: Driver Of Vehicle That Slammed Into East Charlotte Home Had Gunshot Wound To The Chest

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating a homicide after a man was shot and then crashed into a home in east Charlotte.

The vehicle crashed into the the two-story home shortly after 9am on Pinyon Pine Lane.  Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department say the driver, 29-year-old Kelvin Dunlap, Jr. had an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

One person was inside the house when the accident happened but was not injured.  There is no word on where the shooting took place.
