Lincoln County Deputies Arrest Man Wanted On 17 Mecklenburg County Warrants
DENVER, NC — Deputies say a Charlotte man arrested for shoplifting on Saturday was also wanted on 17 warrants out of Mecklenburg County.
Tyrell Culbreth, 30, was arrested after authorities say he and another suspect, Steven Courtney, 34, tried to steal back pack leaf blowers and a generator from the Lowe’s on Highway NC 73 over the weekend.
The suspects left the store through the lumber entrance, according to reports, without paying for the items valued at over $1,400. They were quickly taken into custody, officials say, and the items were returned to the store.
While being booked at the Lincoln County Detention Center, officials say they learned Culbreth was wanted on 17 outstanding warrants in Mecklenburg County. The charges included armed robbery, conspiracy, kidnapping and first-degree burglary.
Courtney and Culbreth were both charged with one count of felony larceny by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
Culbreth was additionally charged with resist, delay and obstruct a public officer and identity theft after reportedly giving a fake identity at the time of his arrest.
