Video Shows Bison Attack Girl At Yellowstone

A 9-year-old was treated for bumps and bruises after a bison charges at a group of people at Yellowstone National Park.

The child can be seen flipping in the air after being hit by the bison.  According to witnesses, a group of approximately 50 people were within five to ten feet of the bison for at least 20 minutes before eventually causing the bison to charge the group.

Yellowstone National Park issued a statement saying visitors should stay 25 yards away from all large animals when they are seen on a trail, boardwalk, parking lot, or in a developed area of the park.

The girl was taken to the Old Faithful Lodge by her family where she was assessed and treated by a park emergency medical provider and later taken to and released from the Old Faithful Clinic.

Officials say no citations have been issued and the incident is still under investigation.
