Hornets Sign Second-Round Draft Pick Cody Martin; Twin Brother Caleb Martin Signed As Free Agent

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets have signed second-round draft pick Cody Martin and his twin brother Caleb Martin, General Manager Mitch Kupchak announced Wednesday.

Charlotte selected Cody Martin 36th overall, out of Nevada, in the 2019 NBA Draft.  Caleb Martin was signed as an undrafted free agent.

Cody Martin, 6’7″ guard, was an All-Mountain West Conference Third Team and Mountain West Conference All-Defensive Team selection in 2018-2019.  He averaged 12.1 points per game as a senior and led the conference in assists.  He was also named Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2017-2018.

At Nevada, Caleb Martin averaged 19.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game on his way to being named to the All-Mountain West Conference First Team and Mountain West Conference All-Defensive Team in 2018-2019.  As a junior in 2017-2018, Martin was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year

The Martin twins are from Mocksville, North Carolina and played two seasons at N.C. State before transferring to Nevada.
