CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Pearl Oden Hoop 4 A Cause basketball tournament was held last weekend.  The event was put on by The Konnected Foundation Inc.

This past Saturday at Camp Green, there was unity, laughter and talent.  The annual basketball tournament was created by Kevan Glover Jr. in 2016.  His inspiration for creating this event was because his mom, who tragically passed away of stage 4 lung cancer in 2010, never got to see her son play the game he so truly loved.

At this tournament, people in the community came to play ball, watch the games and enjoy performances by several local artists.  Four teams played for the chance to win the Pearl Oden Hoop 4 A Cause trophies in a series of seven games.

DJ T.O.P played all the hits during the games and the crowd got hype from the commentators, B-Mo, Giselle Rose, Logan Neal and Model Michel’le.

At this year’s event, Prince Navon, School Kidz, Luckbone and Omari Cupid performed some of their hit singles.  This year, Cuzzo’s Cuisine took home the trophy in the Championship game.  Not only did they bring their basketball skills, they also provided delicious food for the event.
